It’s been a great couple of months at Beery Media. First up, we have partnered with Our State Magazine and The Carrboro Film Festival to judge the magazine’s first short Documentary film competition. The winning film will screen in November at the 8th annual Carrboro Film Festival. If you are a filmmaker or know one, check out this link for rules and submission info. Submit to Our State Film Competition.
Another musical note, this one decidedly more humorous, we went down to Wilmington, NC to produce a rap TV commercial promoting the virtues of recycled Mulch. You have to see it to believe it. Michael Rosander, the star of the spot did an awesome and hilarious job.
As always, thanks for your interest in film and video doin’s by Beery Media. Let us know if you ever have any production needs, we are here to help tell your story.
We recently visited the wood workshop of builder Erik Wolken. Erik built a small wooden sculpture right in front of us and our cameras. His thoughts on creativity and art resonated with us.
Enjoy this short documentary that might just inspire you to start (or continue) your creative journey!
PS – Erik comes from a ridiculously creative family. His brother founded the world famous dance troupe PILOBOLUS, one sister is a fine oil painter and another founded the Third Coast audio documentary festival and is an accomplished audio documentarian.
What’s exciting about shooting a professional interview for A&E is how we can transform a small hotel room with a king sized bed in the middle of it into a great looking interview studio. This weekend BeeryMedia.com had the pleasure of working for both A&E and The Documentary Channel. They are promoting new documentaries that you will be seeing on the big screen this summer and fall. My recommendation? Go see Bart Layton’s “The Imposter”. He’s the gentleman in these photos and his film still has me thinking two days later.

BeeryMedia.com had the chance to help the Chapel Hill Visitor’s Center produce a one hour lecture on tourism. We shot interviews with two cameras around town and then edited them. They were then inserted into the presentation.
Here’s the complete presentation in PDF form.
